Al-Shatibiyah - Level 2

This course is entirely free and is designed for students who have memorised the Qur'an, providing them with the ability to read the Qur'an in the seven recitations (Qira'at) reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him). It is essential for those seeking to deepen their understanding of Qur'anic recitation and mastery of the varied recitations. This level focuses specifically on Farsh—the individual word differences across the recitations— rather than the general rules of Tajweed or Qira'at.

Course Structure:

• Memorisation: Students will memorise Al-Shatibiyah, a poem of 1,173 lines (21 lines per week).
• Class Attendance: Classes will be held every Saturday after Asr at Beaumont Leys Masjid.
• Homework: Completion of all assigned homework is mandatory.
• Examinations: Regular exams will be held approximately every 3 weeks.

Course Duration:

• Start Date: Saturday, 13th September 2025.
• End Date: Saturday, 27th June 2026.
• Breaks: Aligned with the UK public school holidays.

Requirements for Enrolment:

• Qur'an Memorisation: Applicants must have memorised the entire Qur'an.
• Qira'at Foundations: Applicants must have already studied the Usul (principles and general rules) of Qira'at, as this course will focus on the individual word differences (Farsh).
• Arabic Comprehension: Applicants must have the ability to understand Arabic to follow the lessons, though fluency in speaking is not required.
• Motivation: A strong commitment is essential. Remember, great achievements are not attained through mere wishing but through determination and effort.
• Brothers aged 12 and above only.
